When subjects have more than one measurement of a lab evaluation, test result, etc., often these data can be analyzed using repeated measures analysis. There are two basic types: longitudinal analysis of continuous measures (means, medians, etc.) and longitudinal analysis of qualitative evaluations (e.g., greater than the upper range of normal).
These analyses can be accomplished by Mixed Model Analysis of Variance or by Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE) analysis respectively. An added benefit to these types of analyses is that one can use robust variance estimation to lessen the impact of mis-specifying the variance-covariance structure of the model.
